Acceptional Minds is looking for patient, kind, and flexible candidates who can assist in our family support specialist program. This position requires travel within Winnebago and Outagamie counties to provide in-home services to our clients.

Job Requirements:

Our programming includes assisting in daily living activities such as getting ready for school, preparing meals, doing chores, completing homework, and going on outings. Our programming also includes working on behavior management, social, emotional, and executive skills, and enrichment activities.

As a Family Support Specialist, training will begin at the Acceptional Minds, LLC Center (located at 1846 Industrial Dr., Green Bay). This training will be center-based and in clients’ homes, primarily focusing on the life and daily living skills for children ranging from 8-17 years of age. After sufficient training, employees will independently work with families in their homes. Mileage reimbursement is provided when working in client homes. Part-time work is available Monday-Saturday, with flexible shifts between 6am-8pm. Employees are required to work every other weekend. Our client needs are primarily during the afternoon/evening hours during the school year.

Candidates must be over 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Ideal candidates will have previous experience working with kids with special needs and behavioral self-regulation challenges. Acceptional Minds considers any lived/personal experience as qualified previous experience and candidates that meet these criteria are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must demonstrate a calm, kind, and open demeanor. Candidates must also be able to organize, prepare and execute enrichment activities with students. CPR, AED, and First Aid training is preferred but will be provided upon hire if needed.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates must be willing and capable to accept the physical requirements of the job. Candidates are eligible for reasonable accommodations with appropriate medical documentation based on the candidates’ needs. Physical activities may include but are not limited to bending, twisting, stooping, and, or standing for 50% or more of the time. Candidates must be willing and capable of physically engaging clients in active moments such as outside games, yoga, and other fitness-related activities. In the event of maintaining the safety of a client, candidates may occasionally need to assist clients as they process through the event.

This position is flexible with mostly afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts available. Part-time hours available. Starting pay is $16.00/hr.
