Acceptional Minds is looking for patient, kind, and flexible candidates who can assist with our family support specialist program. This position requires travel within Winnebago and Outagamie counties to provide in-home services to our clients. Acceptional Minds does offer a mileage reimbursement program for employees where applicable.
Our programing includes assisting in daily living activities such as getting ready for school, preparing meals, doing chores, completing homework, going on outings, as well as other community integration opportunities. Our programing also includes working on behavior management, social, emotional, and executive skills, and enrichment activities.
As a Family Support Specialist training will begin at the Acceptional Minds, LLC Center (located at 1846 Industrial Dr., Green Bay). This training will be center-based and in client’s homes, learning to teach to the brain in front of you, while focusing on executive functioning and daily living skills for children ranging from 8-17 years of age. After sufficient training, employees will independently work with families in their homes.
Part time opportunities are available Monday – Saturday, with flexible shifts between 6am-8pm. Employees are required to work every other weekend. Current client needs are primarily during the afternoon/evening hours during the school year. Starting pay is $15.50/hr. with an increase to $16-$18 after the 90-day training period. Candidates hired will receive a bonus of $100 after 3 months and $150 after 6 months of employment.
Candidates must be over 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license with current auto insurance listed in the employee’s name. Ideal candidates will have previous experience working with children with developmental and behavioral/self-regulation differences. Acceptional Minds considers any lived/personal experience as qualified previous experience, candidates that meet these criteria are encouraged to apply.
To be successful in this role candidates must demonstrate a calm, kind, and open-minded demeanor. Candidates must also be able to organize, prepare and execute enrichment activities with students. CPR, AED, and First Aid training is preferred, but will be provided upon hire if needed.
